    Great looking pistol Bill and great to know some history behind it. thanks for sharing.

    A good example there, Bill! The type is absurdly old fashioned even for c1880 and to be officially not replaced until around 1910 says that the Germans really weren't worried about pistols much-they seem to have entirely skipped the 1890s when other armies adopted more modern small calibre revolvers.
