Nice surplus rounds Joe...I have seen them during my Army duty but never fired them 'cause in 1988 i served, the Garand rifle was obsolete in the greek Armed Forces. The only other weapon still using them is the vintage US-supplied .30 MG.
    Best, Thanos.

Thanks for taking a look, folks! I hear the Garand is still used by the Greek honor guard... Very cool!

You are correct Joe, the M1 Garand is still used by the Presidential Guard (Euzones), of course refurbished.
    Best regards, Thanos.

This is how the CMP sometimes packs this stuff. I think it was linked MG rounds before repacking. I have shot a lot of this stuff in CMP matches. It works great for me. The weirdest thing is I have ordered lots of this for me and my buddies to shoot. I once got some US Lake city in boxes that was packed in the early 60's. must of been bound for Vietnam for the ARVIN troops as they had our old surplus rifles in the early days.

The box is for the M1917A1 browning machine gun, the latch fits the 1917A1 tripod, hence why its different to the normal M1 can. I also have one of these boxs from Greece so I guess they recieved alot of them post war as Military aid.

Thanks for the info, guys! To be honest, I was expecting a modern ammo can so commonly seen at surplus stores.
