Hallo, its a PIAT. It was in use of the British, but also the Canadian army used them.Google Afbeeldingen resultaat voor http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/0b/Piat_and_bomb.PNG/180px-Piat_and_bomb.PNG
It is indeed a PIAT.
I wonder how it ended up there? Still a nice find.
We have some PIAT info on the forum. Do a search.
Cheers, Ade.

Nice find and i also wonder like ade how it got there
Could it be worth anything? Like do you think a museum would buy it?
I somehow doubt any museum would buy it given the condition and lack of any know history surrounding this particular peice. But I am sure you will find a ready market with collectors here
Sorry I don't have a idea of a value for you.
Cheers, Ade.
It looks like a british WWII Anti tank launcher.
These were a nasty thing to shoot. Hard on the man useing it. Please refer too British WWII small arms. They would have a picture of it. I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Guns ltd
Is there a military base nearby? Southern Ala?And was there any other artifacts lying around? Maybe a metal detector would help you out some.
