    Gun Number 2. Inheritance.

This a gun given to me by my uncle.

You can see a number on it.

It also has the word Amsterdam beside the hammer. It is very faint.

So I am thinking it is a gun made in the Netherlands.

I have no info on this besides what I have told you.

    Anyone seen one before??

Age ???? Any Value to this ???

    More to come. Thank Paul

    Hi,
Nice inheritence the only thing i can see fault in is the hammer arm, it would not fore the weapon
as the arm is to long and will not sit on the percussion cap. It was proberbly replaced at some time.

This looks like a British 'Brown Bess' or some other type of military musket
that has been cut down and re-worked into a shotgun with a rather
    ill-fitting hammer......

    Pitty.

    Hello Paul,

To my mind this is a Dutch revolutionary war gun. Manufactured by the Dutch for use by the American forces of George Washington.

Unfortunately the gun has been brutally "modernized" in the early nineteenth century. The barrel has been shortened, the original flintlock has been converted to percussion and ramrod tubes were added. Not uncommon in those days.

Otherwise an interesting gun. Keep it and cherish it!

    Cheers,
    Emile
