    Default Help w/ price on a WW1 Kar 98

I have the change to pick up a WW1 Kar98 (not a WW2 Kar98K) it is in good shape and have all matching numbers. I have own many Mausers over the years, but this is the first Kar 98 which I had the chance to pick up. The guy is asking $550, is that a good price? If not what should I offer?

Depending on the condition it is a decent buy. WW2 vintage Mausers fetch anything from $350 to 800 depending on condition. And that is just for shooters, very collectable rifles go even higher than that. In my opinion he is not trying to rip you off, but just use your best judgement depending on condition. If its locked up solid with rust, or missing all of the finish then pass on it...crap is still crap even if its old.

The Kar98a is a nice rifle. If the condition is there $550 is a reasonable price. Make sure it is actually all matching, not just that the bolt is.
