The first rifle I ever bought was in middle school (1972) - a Vietnam captured SKS! Paid $90 at a gunshow from my paper route paycheck . SKS Ammo was a bitch to find back then and the rifles were rare.
My buddy bought a rock solid German G43 for the same price and a wartime surplus ammo tin of 8mm. We shot the crap out of that thing!
Love to see yours and hear the story
Please post it. Rich A. in Pa.

Knowledge is power, guard it well.
I have Chi Com SKS made in 1964 with the blade bayonet , I picked up a few back in 1988 - 90 for $69 - $99 each
these were all original Military surplus right out of the crate, some were used and some were never fired
I also have the Russian M44 Mosin Nagant with the folding spike bayonet , also very popular as a war trophy from the Vietnam War
the M44 and the SKS are nice examples of the weapons used by the VC / PAVN
