pictures help
Looks like a Browning Hi-Power from FN
But the trigger says 1911
Perhaps a Femaru M1937 (Hungarian) (P.37 u).?
David
here it is pictured with an fn for comparison.... reckon its something more off the beaton track.....
if you look at the bussiness end of the hammer mine has a squared off cap at the end and is quiet distintive... yours smoothly tapers off at 45 at the back of the breach
The gun is definite a Hungary M-37 - congratulation with it...
wow, that didnt take long! iv been on the net looking for that answer for ages!!
thanks David and HVK for the positive id, is mine a slightly different variant than the one David shows as the rear end is slightly different??
.
Hi HVK,
Your close mate, but not right... The pistol is a Hungarian Frommer Pisztoly 29 Minta M-29 (Model 1929). It's a 9mm 7 shot auto produced only for the military, whereas the M-37 was 7.65mm and used by the police, amongst other civil services.
Below is firstly, a M-29, and secondly, a M-37. Note the different rear frame/slide and make your own decision, they are markedly different.
Regards, Ned.
