Information on Mg34

Hi all..a friend of mine bought a Mg34 (dot 1942)...it has a mark on the wood handle VK inside a circle...anyone knows what deos it mean??

Looks like your MG34 is a Russia renumbered one so it could be to do with that

yes it was taken by Russians...so do you think that also that mark was made in Russia? Mnay thanks kradman

I doubt "VK" is a Russian mark as there is no V in the Russian Cyrillic alphabet!...

may be VK has something to dowith Panzer or Armored vehicles models(es.VK 4501 etc etc) ?
