Just got my first German weapon!

Hey gang...I've been wanting one of these since I was 10 - and that was 30 years ago!! Got my first MP40 yesterday and I'm real pumped about it. Came from a fellow Canadian collector (can't acquire these when crossing borders is involved!).

All matching numbers (6800) made by Steyr and dated 1944. Cock and click and everything is just perfect on it. Barrel is plugged but everything else functions perfectly.

Quite happy to have this in the collection: for me - ww2 was always epitomized by the German helmet and the MP40.....I have quite a few German lids - but had a long time to wait to find one of these.....if only it could tell stories!!

....There are waffenamt stamps all over the SMG - the mag is not matching - doubt there ever was matching mags....it's '43 dated and also waffenamt stamped.

Thanks! Had to sell quite a few items to get this one piece....but after waiting so long - it was time!
You're right: they aren't cheap - but they scream WW2!!
