Looking for details on Wirraway armament
Hi All,
I'm new to the forum, and I'm wondering if anyone can help out with information regarding the armament carried by Australian Wirraway aircraft around WWII.
The Wirraway was armed with 3 types of guns:
- 2 Vickers Mk V .303 machine guns synchronized to fire through the propellor arc
- 1 Vickers GO (Gas Operated) No.1 Mk.1 .303 machine gun on a ring-mount fired by the observer, and
- later models had 2 Browning .303 machine guns under the wings
I'm looking for dimensioned drawings of these guns (and close-up photos if possible) for detailed drawings of the aircraft which I'm currently drafting.
You can see some of the early work on the drawings here: DB Design Bureau
Regards,
Derek
