Excellent. Nice to see these old carbines being used/enjoyed.........!

I bought the one above deactivated, as the price was right.
Been thinking of re-activating it with NOS parts.

How are the gun laws in Canada? I used to play in the Canadian professional paintball league and crossing over from St. Lawrence County, NY to Ontario with our paintball guns was always a stressful experience.

They are somewhat strict. The Government has made it somewhat safer by requiring all guns
to be kept locked, and ammo kept separate, but they have also enacted some
senseless laws regarding ownership with specific regulations.

One is that all self-loading handgun magazines can hold only 10 rounds, rifles only 5 rounds,
so every high capacity magazine has to have been altered. 10 rounds good - 13 bad ! ?
Another that you must carry a plastic card license, but along with this
a paper document must also be carried with it !

Criminals have no regard for any of these laws, so they pick on law abiding gun owners
to make it look like something is being done to stop gun crimes. If some jerk were to
break in and steal a lawfully owned gun, the owner would be charged with
'improper storage', and likely a few others.........

I used to go out and shoot, until they closed all the public ranges
    about 15 years ago.

There is a lot of the same here in NY. We are allowed to own higher capacity mags (for example, the 15rnders I have for my carbine) as long as they were made before the ban went into effect.

A pistol permit takes months to pass... guns must be kept separate from ammo when you're transporting them in your car, etc.

Steve-are M-1 carbines even allowed in Canada? Isn't there some absurd regulation about barrel length in Canada? It seems to me I remember some such thing, as my Ruger .44 mag carbine was not allowed there some years ago. William

There are M1 Carbines in Canada, but because of the short barrel length, they are "restricted".
The first one I owned had a 1/2" tube welded to the end of the barrel to make it legal.

    Silly.........

    Wow...

A friend of mine supposedly got his carbine out of a warehouse in Canada... it was still packed in it's original 40's wartime packaging.

On the way to the range!

Here's a video of me rapid firing my carbine for the first time. Not too shabby, eh!?
