Only info I can find are 3 known types of stamp, sadly yours looks like no 2 which I dont know about, the only source I can find IDs 1 as Tula
1. Star and Arrow contained in a Circle.
2. Hexagon and Arrow in a Circle.
3. Truncated Triangle
Hopefuly one of our resident geniuses on here can help us out
Thanks Reg, these guns are certainly good value for money.I'm on the look out for the kit to go with it, as I like to try and get some of the ancillary stuff they used with them.Hopefully somebody can identify that receiver mark.I want to get a Mosin, but i'm undecided as to which model best depicts the army in WW2, i've picked up a '38 carbine, but want a normal long rifle.
cheers Pete.
Hi Pete, very nice buy.
I have not actually seen this maker mark before. I suspect it will be sub plant of Tula. But I am guessing here. I will see what I can find for you.
Re the Mosin Nagant: if you want pre war go with the hex shaped reciever. The round reciever was only produced after 1938.
Cheers, Ade.
OK thanks, I see Ryton have got some'30 dated examples, I quite fancy one of those
