    Default Mauser M/98K F1

In the process of buying a Mauser for myself, I recently got my license and the paperwork has been filed; as I found this 98k chambered in 30.06.
This specific issue strikes me as too good looking? I've heard the saying 'If it's too good to be true, it probably is.'

So I thought I would pick your brains just out of curiousity.

    Greetings,

That's a nice-looking rifle...Personally speaking, I avoid Re-Chambered Mausers for 2 reasons - Originality & Safety- I look forward to the Comments & Opinions of our more Knowledgeable, Dedicated Mauser Afficionados....

    Originality yes, That is gone.
But as far as safety goes that Mauser action is one of the strongest actions in the firearm field.

The Columbian mauser is actually chambered in 30.06 from the factory.

No longer original, no doubt there. But as far as I can see it's a legit re-purposed mauser? the listing price is roughly 200 dollars for this particular one.

If the bore is not a sewer pipe, that is a great price!

The bore seems to be practically unused, will provide you guys with pictures once the rifle is in my hands if anyone wants to see!

Manufactured by Gustloff Werke in 1941. The laminated stock looks like it's been varnished and the steel re-blued. Some sort of post war refurbishment likely. But at $200 something of a bargain I would think.
