    I agree maybe the first one posted was one made by Norway as they used the MG34 for many years post war

    Some years ago I was given a Norwegian butt which was of a different shape. The part of the butt which is gripped by finger and thumb was not recessed like the originals. I was asked by the owner if I would undertake to alter the profile of the butt, and it turned out very much like the example shown at the beginning of the post.
