MG34 Dust Cover.

Article about: So, what you you lot know about dust/breech covers for the mg34? Reading Myrvang's excellent 'German Universal Machineguns', he mentions the short cover, but doesn't mention the longer cover

    Default MG34 Dust Cover.

    So, what you you lot know about dust/breech covers for the mg34? Reading Myrvang's excellent 'German Universal Machineguns', he mentions the short cover, but doesn't mention the longer cover shown at MG34. The grey leather straps look a bit odd to me on this one - expecting brown leather...

    So... Is the long breech cover a post war invention, or was it around during WW2?

    Any advice graciously received.
