Bill the 98 still has some old grease any thoughts on how to clean or should I leave alone ?
How much does a rifle like that cost in the US? How easy are they to find?
Does it have import marks and cant see the bolt clearly---matching numbers ?
My dad gave me the 98. He got it from a guy at his work a long time ago. I talked him out of it last month. You can find 98's at any gun show starting around $200 and up. The $200 guns are not to good or have import marks. Gary
Panzer all matching no import marks
Hi,
That is a realy nice looking rifle you are so lucky to be able to fire it.
i have fire most modern weapons and some ww2. but not the K98,
and the one i have is dead (deac ). thanks for showing it.
dave.
All matching no import marks could go for around $1200 give or take in Texas. You can get mix matched Mausers with import marks $200-500. I would hold on to that though unless youre working up to something better. Mausers are great rifles if it is bored well --they have a disticnt BOOM when they are fired and you can definately tell when someone is firing one.
