    Default Mosin Carbine 38

Here is what I've found recently.
There are two main versions about those:

    1. It was modernised in early 30x like many 1891s

    or/and

    2. Modified and/or modernised in 1941 for obvious resons

in any case it was revoken after the WW2 and put into long term storage as all the rifles.

Enjoy. The history of Mosin Rifle in one particular item

They are a little more handy without the bayonet. My favorite Mosin Well done.

Awesome that it is a much earlier rifle modernized in the WWII era. Perhaps it was used in the Russian Revolution AND WWII?!

probably, it's old enough to remember it all but who can tell what it has seen? Bloody Sunday, WW1, Revolution, Makhovist, Enthenta invasion, Socialisation of Azian republics, Poland, Winter War, WW2 ? I would really like to know

Beautiful rifle - I want to add an M38 to my collection at some point. It always pains me to see them in M44 stocks like this, but the wood was probably beaten up during the war and replaced during the refurb process.

yep, in the end of 50s-mid 60s. Most of the rifles were refub before the long -term storage. On this particular one the bolt is marked with electro-pen that is a sure sight of post-war refub if we don't take into account the M44 stock.

An interesting conversion-variation, mine is not a conversion, and was a "Winter War" veteran with the Finnish 'SA/Box' marking stamped on it. It is a handy little carbine, but the only one I really tested was a Type 53 copy with the extra weight up front (the bayonet). Which contrary to what some might believe are actually better made than most of the wartime guns, and was surprisingly accurate. FP
