I picked up last week. In pretty good condition with original parts. Not too common with only 55,000 made in two orders. The first was 30,000 after the original order of 200,000 was cancelled. The US ordered a second order for 25,000.

    Envious....

Very nice example. I've been saying for years that I need to pick up a 1911, Lugar and Broomhandle and just have never gotten around to it.

I have not fired it. I do shoot my Remington Rand though. I take a few kids out a couple of times a year to the range and have WWII shoot day. M1 Garand, M1 Carbine and 1911A1. Somewhat educational but they have more fun that education.

I have a Springfield 1911 A1 built like the military models but it is from the early '70s. Hammer bite stinks, but it isn't a problem after the 1st time! I have a Colt as well but it is a '90s Officer model and not like the early production models. I like my 1911s.

Kimber isn't bad. Not like the old school models though. I got a replica leather holster and mag pouch to match the WW 1 belt rigs for my Springfield. It looks like the OPs example, except for the Crimson Trace laser grips. The belt rig gives it a nice home.
    Sorry to hijack Rescue!
Do you have any other vintage 1911s? I would like to see the Remington Rand model.
