    And why would it be considered crap they were very economical to manufacture and served a specific purpose as a close quarter assault weapon.

    Regards Mark K
    Hello Mark,
    I do have one reasonable magazine and a sling.

    My Dad thought they were crap. But handling it I think I am inclined to agree.
    I remember him telling me (He's passed away now bless him) how he would think he was going to fire on repetition but banged a burst off instead!

    I will let you know in due course if it improves in use.

    Kind regards
    Doug

    The Mk 1* doesn't have the wooden furniture of the original Mk 1.

    As to it being deactivated or not I believe discussing such things on a public forum the standard answer in the UK should be (OF COURSE IT IS DEACTIVATED)

    Not wanting to act the wet blanket however if the Sten is in the UK and has not been de-activated it is classified as a prohibited weapon and as such possession of such attracts a MINIMUM sentence on conviction of 5 years imprisionment.

    Robin, Thats an important point, thats why I asked in the first place ! It cannot be classed as an Antique weapon because ammunition can be bought and fired using the weapon

    EDIT Section 5(1)(a) any firearm which is so designed or adapted so that two or more missiles can be successively discharged without repeated pressure on the trigger, e.g. machine guns, burst fire weapons;
