The mags are marked but no serial numbers matching the gun, as for the sock, he was asking to much.

Hey guys, how do i go about preserving the leather holster? would shoe polish be an option or would it ruin the value? or should i leave it as-is?

Nice Pistol! You're lucky you live in a state where you don't have to register pistols. Her in good old New York we have to register all handguns and there are pretty stiff penalties if you don't.

Any good gun leather oil should be fine on the holster-I like Hoppes, but there's many diff to choose from. . William

    Very nice rig

To answer an earlier question, FP = Feld Post

Have a look here - about half way down the page - you can search for the FP number.

    Welcome | Photo-war.com

Does it say "Gefr" on the holster - if so that is Gefreiter

    Regards

No need to search. The Feldpost number, 13004, is for:

    19. Fernsprech-Betriebs-Kompanie 644.

    Cher, Ade.

Well gotta admit that P-38´s are hard to find today - but to call this good sample a mint condition - in your dreams. Mint means that gun is not used ans is factory-new. This gun has clearly visible sings of rostbites in both sides of the frame - pic 3 so bad that one of the stamps (middle) is not clearly visible and also at the edge of the slide. Same thing continues at the otherside - clearly visible rostbites in the slide and frame. Good gun - but never ever MINT.
