Hello Bill, I was wondering if we could start a pinned thread on nothing but Mauser 98k's that people would like to add to the virtual museum here in the Firearms section. Instead of them being spread all over the section it would be very nice to view them all in a rolling view. What do you think my friend. I will have a couple nice ones to add soon if the idea is good. Mike

Sounds great! I am close to the transaction closing with Bruce on the 42 code, 1940. I am really excited to add it to the collection. It will be one of the nicer ones I have. When the thread starts up, I will add the 243 1940 that I recently aqquired. Mike

Nice Bill, thanks for doing this. I think all of the 98k enthusiasts will enjoy this continuous viewing of quality 98ks. I wll get my two early examples ready for photos. It is sadly overcast today, so I will get them up soon. Mike

This is the 42 Code 1940 Mauser Werke AG Oberndorf, serial # 9708 nn, all matching Heer issue 98k. This is the one I recently purchased Bill. I will get some better close-ups of it. Waffenampt 655 all the way around. I also added a very nice original L&F sling. I have found a new way to bring out the markings and it is using a china pencil in white, and a gentle wipe with alcohol. It works VERY well for the fine stamps to the large. I have been working over the new P38 byf44 that I just bought with the china pencil and it is looking good!!
