    Default Pocket pistol,

    Hi,
i picked this little pocket pistol up today as it,s another odd one for my collection, it is 5.3 Cal, and has the marks on the barrel 95 5.3 then a * over a G the G leads to a line over three chevrons then a crown and E over L,O. I was told about 1890,s it is like a Velo pistol but i dont think it is from Belgium ect, I like it as it has a swival barrel something different.
and needs a good clean, and is 4, 2/1 " long,
    Dave.

Looks like it's a single shot spur trigger Derringer, nice score.

Nice find. Im confused about the calibre 5.3? 5.3 inch would be very big, and not a standard calibre. 5.3 mm would be extremely small. The calibre looks rather smaller, and is rimfire. I would think this pistol is closer to 1875-1880 than 1890, as modern centrefire ammunition was dominating by then. The proof marks are indeed Belgian.

Here are similar markings on a Belgian Browning pistol of the 1920's.

Fair enough, good research there. I would like to know what ammunition this used.
