Question about sling

Hi, i found these for sale and i wonder, were the slings for the 1904 mauser vergueiro, originally made of leather?

Hello Nuno-both the VM slings I have seen were leather-this was the most common sling material in the early 20th century and had been for many years. https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/firea...-kit-32161/See my earlier thread to see the sling on the rifle.

PS I just looked at the ebay site-the sling there is a much later one meant for the short Mauser rifles and VM 7.92mm conversions-it would be correct for your m04/39 short rifle.
