Hello all,
I'm conserving a WW2 RAF Mk V Flare pistol which I believe was fired from inside the aircraft through a special portal. It has a lug on the left hand side of it's short barrel. I assume this is to correctly align it in the portal?
All I know is that it was found in Holland, and would appreciate any info about these signaling devices.
I'm enclosing a picture of it as found, but if anyone is interested I have pic's of the conservation project. I'm aiming to make it into an inert display piece showing the work involved during the restoration.
Cheers,
navyman.
