    how stable is the stock on the m1a1? i remember examining one a long time ago and it didn't seem very positive, although i think they are great looking and probably very fun to shoot.

    Great to to go out and shoot with your boy and friends!

    I never saw a M1A1 carbine with bayonet lug!? Is this a later add on or an optional in WW2 or later?

    The stock is very stable, 10" metal plates were no problem to hit at 125 yards...BILL

    Bayonet lugs were added at the end of WW2, during rebuild...BILL

    Looks like you had a great time Bill. I'm sure your son enjoyed the quality time. Nice carbine. I'm sure you have all the ammo, bandoleers, pouches, launcher and other acc........... Well let's see em.

    nice Bill, consierve your ammo, a case of 7.62x39 going for 480.00, as for 223 don't even go there.
