    Default Restored BYF 44 K98

I picked this up when it still in a hunting stock and had Lyman sights, the rifle is all metal matching except the floorplate and follower, the bore is pretty much brand new. Total investment at this point is right around 65 dollars, but I still need a sight blade. I've put up a before picture and a couple after pictures.

I found it in a used hunting rifle section at a local gunstore for $140. I took it to a local gunsmith to have the military sights put back on

Thanks guys, this is a first for me, I normally pass these off but this one being a vet bring back made it stand out to me

Looks like a nice project. What are the markings on the reciever ring?? You have done well.

Thats a very fine restoration job your doing there. I only wish that the firearms legislation over here was not so tough. I would really like a few old military rifles that I could use.

The receiver code is BYF and the date is 1944, the rifle is in the 22 thousand range no letter block
