Small gun collection

Article about: They're all deactivated, except for the Gewehr. 88. Tell me what you think about it. Now I'm looking for a P14 ERA.

probably because its a drill purpose rifle ( D.P )
The British or dependents would never cut the end of the barrel off like that, and they've also machined off the Bayonet lugs too. The Drill Purpose rifle was used to train service men in the use of the rifle rather than for parade practice which was a secondary use. It makes no sence to remove such a small section unless someone 'Sporterised' the rifle and then someone else fitted DP marked wood to it to bring it back to almost standard. If it is a DP rifle, all the downgraded parts will be marked 'DP' especially the action body and bolt. Can you see any DP markings on the metal work?

not thr roundness the one shown above is also a drill purpose rifle but in .22 for snipers (much rarer)

    Snipers ?

We used .22 Enfields for target shooting in the R.C.A.C. - Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

Never heard of snipers using .22's for their work.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

For the deactivated ones you have to be 18 years old. For the live ones you have to be 18 years old and you'll need a licence for them, to shoot with it in a club. I don't shoot with them, just for hanging on the wall.
Laws regarding guns and cars do change quiet often here.
At thise momment all non-automatic rifles made before 1945 are free, some old (WW I)guns are free as well: time being!!!
We had a great scam a few years ago, when all weapons were prohibited and the governement ordered the citizens to hand in theyre guns to be destroyed.
Many police officers were found guilty of holding in gun's that they had recieved for they own profit.
4 months after thise major operation those laws were abolished.....
