    That is a West German blank adapter for the red (Norwegian) u. black (German) plastik blanks they used.
    I modified it to use for reenacting.

    Nice. Thanks! Did you have to permanently alter the rifle in anyway?

    I have an all original and matching WWII M1A1 paratrooper, so I loved seeing yours. Originals are hard to find and quite pricy. Mine was a lucky find.

    No mods required, it is a press on & twist to lock attacment.
    I have an old junker/shooter Carbine that I threaded the muzzle and screwed in a plug to blank adapt it.
    That Carbine has a very old repro M1A1 stock on it, the other one is an original.
