An AK is a great weapon, for what it was designed to do. I have both an AKM, and an AKM-74, and like them both, but I think I prefer the 74.

Hi Ade., the clarity of your pictures are unbelievable. I've never seen a Maxim in person, but now I feel I have. Your's looks like a museum piece also. I bet Tula didn't put out very many of these during WWII. The Germans got alittle too close for comfort to the factory. Did they mix oil in the water for the jacket or was it pure water?

These scopes were never fitted to the Carbine, only the M91/30 rifle.

Repro scopes can be found on E bay. Originals are harder to find.

The scope type PU was originally used on the SVT-40 with scope rails and rear mount notch. When proven unsuitable, they were then used in the same form on the early M91/30 PU sniper rifles there were some later minor changes on the scope but they are completely interchangeable in the two mount setups. My aresenal refurbished 91/30 sniper has a 1940 SVT PU scope on it from the rearsenal work. Modern reproduction PU scopes look VERY similar to originals even having the wartime date stamped on them, be careful.

I have taken a couple of pics of the triangle mark, it has a <1
mark inside it. hope this can be found, also a mark on the left side
is a circle with a russian mark, hope you can see it sorry the pic of that is a little blury. this has turned out to be a good little thread.

Guy thanks for the ribbon it came this morning.

The 1 in triangle up top of that picture is a DDR property mark.
I'm 99% sure and not 100 because the picture is a little blurry.

fantastic selection you have there i thought i would add mine its a 1919 dated negant and a 1938 dated tt33.
also got a nice shot of the negant with no clothes on
hope you all like.
both have been re worked and some think this is good and others think bad. i don't mind i think it is part of there story and adds interest.

Hi Meyerse, welcome to the forum! You are of course correct abut the early use of the PU scope. I was only thinking in terms of their use on the Mosin Nagant series when I answered the question, forgetting about the SVT40. The early PU scope is different to the one I show.

Hi Andy, nice to see another early dated TT33. I have yet to add a Nagant revolver to my collection.
