    Hi Nige,

Please let me have the measurements of the barrel fittings when you get the chance. A photo of the front sight arrangement would also be very helpfull.

I am fairly sure the barrel will spin as is. I will probably end up putting another machine screw through the flat part of the barrel bushing and into the barrel to prevent this.

    Thanks

Any news on the measurements etc yet Nige ?

I have made a MkI* magwell and have a receiver ready for milling, the only thing holding me back is the details of the front end.

    Here's a repro MkIII pic.

MkI* barrel bushing and collar, from the research I have done I think it's right.

Also the Mk1* in your photo looks as if it got a Mk2 sleeve which has been modified.
What makes you say that Nige ?

I think it's the genuine article.

This is what the front sight is like. The post is just an upturned pice of the unit, no welding anywhere.

    Great replicas guys

I assume you might have an idea on the UK laws regarding making replica weapons? If you do would you be able to let me know what exactly they are as I've looked on the internet and found about 20 different answers so I figured here would be the best place to ask.
    Thanks

    Danny

    Danny ,

I can't give you the answer you are looking for, but it stands to reason that if you are allowed to own dectivated firearms then it should be legal to make replicas of deactivated firearms. Ask Mr Plod if you want to be certain.

I left the UK for good six years ago, best thing I ever did.

Hi Danny, no you cannot make any replicas at all. The law has changed here in the last 18 months.

    Cheers, Ade.

What happens if you made one 18 months ago ?

You need to read the Violent Crime Reduction Bill for all the details.
