    That'll be the proof house deact stamp, proofed as 'DA' (deactivated) in '09' (2009).

    Thank you Dschop, I really do love it! I'm enjoying sharing pieces f my small collection with the folks here as they are friendly and give advice, unlike some other forums.

    I feel sorry for you guys in the UK and elsewhere that can not have functional firearms. But I guess it beats not having any at all???
    I have a fully functional MG 42, have had it since the early 1960s. I also have a tripod/scope for it.
    Here is a photo of it along with my BAR u. Bren Gun - All are shooters.
