TT-33 Tokarev... help with missing part?

A cylindrical part (a screw?) has gone missing from my deactivated Tokarev, please refer to my (bad) pictures to see what I refer to. I have no idea what it's purpose was, or how it got lost, but it can't have been of much use- this is my 2nd Tokarev, the same happened to the first, which I sold because of said fault. You might think I'm crazy selling it because of such a small imperfection, but little things like this drive me crazy... I'm a perfectionist with OCD. The first time I lost a part, half of whatever it was seemed to remain in the cavity- though this time it's gone entirely. Can anyone please enlighten me as to what it is, and if this is common? I'd also like to know if I can get hold of a replacement (which somehow I think is a long shot)? If not, I may end up selling it just to go and buy another.

Have a look here. It is a firing pin retaining screw.

Thanks for the the info. I wonder if they broke/fell out as a result of the deactivation process, or if this was liable to happen to them in service?

I just did a quick search on how I might get a replacement- all it yielded were expensive results on American gun sites, which probably won't send to the UK anyway. Can anyone point me in the right direction? And would I need specialist tools to replace it or anything?

May I suggest that if you could borrow one from some one as you no longer have one, you could probably have one turned on a lathe.If they are easily lost you may want a couple made.Loctite is very good at preventing screws from dropping out

lew07- that had been suggested to me, but really I want an original piece. Even if it is a small, barely-visible component!

Ingrid- Thanks for the site link! This never came up in my searches. Would this be the correct piece then? Firing Pin Retainer Pin the description seems a little vague, and there's no picture.

Really don't know, never bought from this site before. But I know people who did bought from this site and what it says you get.

If you cant get anywhere with any of the sites prodived, once my TT33 arrives I'll take out the retaining in pin and make take some measurements and machine a copy of the part then blue it if you want?

I'll look into the site provided above, see if they'll send to the UK. If I have no luck, I'll get back to you- either way, thanks a lot for the offer, I appreciate it! What other weapons are you acquiring in the lot, out of interest?

Yuh, I take your point. I suggest this as a last resort.This part is not a restricted part altho it will almost certainly have to be mailed to you from out of this Country.If you can find one of these screws knocking about in the UK your a lucky man.Might cost more for the postage than the screw!At least you have the option of havin one made here if you can obtain one as a pattern.I say this because the screws thread will need to be measured.
