I bought this at an estate sale yesterday for 10 dollars, I noticed the Russian markings all of it. Knowing that this could be old I therefore turn to the pros to assist me in finding all information on this part. Any information will be greatly appreciated as I am completely lost in the world of Russian fire arms.

It is not Russian, it is Yugoslavian. The next to last letter does not exist in Russian. I think it means Establishment 44. I think it is a M48 Mauser receiver that has had some parts replaced or altered to make it into a sporting rifle. Original caliber 8mm.

i also think its a m48 mauser in 7.92mm that has had a straight cocking handle added for sportezised things

it looks like the cocking handle has been straightend rather than replaced.

Thanks for the findings, it is going on my bookshelf. It appears to be surplus because it has never been used.

I agree, a M48 receiver that's been drilled and tapped for a scope, and had the bolt handle bent down. Appears to have a modern trigger for a better/smoother trigger pull

Looks like it needs a nice barrel with caliber of choice and new wood to be a nice sporter. You want to double your money?? Nice action
