What's it for?

Hi Guys
Someone I know has this scope, and I have no idea what it's for? Can anyone help please? There are no markings on it at all, it has a rail on the bottom, the cross hairs in the optics are the same as a No32 British................... I'm stumped (not difficult)

It looks like the ZF4 scope from the FG42 amongst other weapons, but I've never seen one without markings.

Hi looks to be a ZF4 scope as used with the G43 and MP44 ,could be Czech post war made if there are no markings

Thanks! optics are not my thing, it looks to be made decently. I think it was the rail on the bottom that confused me. Appreciate your help
