Whitery was a mob boss and had some 19 confirmed kills that are known... probably may more we don't. These were tools of his trade.... never burglary.

Interesting, He was caught a few miles from me in Santa Monica.
Those MP40's are in bad shape missing resting bars and finish - and no SMG's are mentioned in any of the press, which makes me think they are replicas, along with the silenced mac and greasegun.
We all know what a fuss the press would make if they were real machineguns.
They do go into detail about how he acquired the real firearms, via straw purchase.

He had books on military history, so clearly was probably a bit of a collector - although he hollowed those books out to keep revolvers inside according to a couple of articles, so maybe not a hard core collector, lol.

    Interesting, though.

From today's testimony.... A shakedown victim:
Solimando said he realized he was in trouble when Flemmi walked him up to the dark, cavernous upstairs of the Triple O's bar to find Bulger and his associate Kevin Weeks.

"He pulled a revolver out and stuck it in my face and said how disappointed he was that I hadn't come to him sooner and I said I didn't know what he was talking about," Solimando said of Bulger. Solimando said the gangster eventually pointed a machine gun at him, letting him leave only after he agreed to come up with money.

The next morning, Solimando said, he considered going to the FBI. But he ultimately decided that it would be safer just to pay Bulger's gang what they wanted.

"There's too many people dead in Boston for working with the authorities," Solimando recalled deciding. "There's too many bodies around. We have to take this seriously."

The weapons are in bad shape because they were probably used.. a lot.

On 13 December 2011, a murdersuicide attack took place in the city of Lige in the Wallonia region of Belgium.
The attacker, 33-year-old Nordine Amrani, threw grenades and fired an 7.62mm FN FAL rifle at civilians on Saint-Lambert Square. The attack killed six and left 125 others injured; seven of whom suffered serious injuries. Amrani then committed suicide by shooting himself with a Smith & Wesson M57 .41 Magnum revolver. Earlier that day, he had also murdered a woman in his house.
The attack occurred on the same day as the 2011 Florence shootings was happening.
Nordine Amrani was born in Ixelles/Elsene in Brussels, Belgium on 15 November 1978. He was a French-speaking Belgian of Moroccan origin and a welder by trade. According to Amrani's lawyer, he could not speak Arabic nor was he Muslim. Amrani was known to have an interest in guns, with a history of convictions for possession of weapons.
He grew up near Brussels, and was living with his fiance, a care home nurse. Orphaned early, he was raised in foster homes.
Amrani had been released from prison in October 2010. He had been convicted to a 58-month (4 years, 10 months) sentence he received from a Lige court in 2008. The conviction was for possession of thousands of weapons parts, dozens of weapons, including a rocket launcher, assault and sniper rifles, as well as 2,800 cannabis plants, in the context of a criminal conspiracy . He also had convictions for handling stolen goods and sex offences but had no known links to terror groups. On the day of the attack, Amrani had been summoned for an interview with the police to answer questions about a sexual abuse case.
Before the attack, Amrani transferred money from his account to that of his girlfriend. On the morning of the attack, Amrani killed a 45-year-old woman in his apartment. The victim was working as a cleaner for Amrani's neighbour. He possibly lured her into his flat under the pretext of offering her work. After the murder, he hid her body in his shed, then left his flat for the city centre, equipped with a backpack containing the weapon.
Many historical collectors weapons were found at his apartment.
Laws ,in Belguim, regarding the possession of historical weapons changed drastically ever since! Even a demil grenade requiers a permit from next year may on!

    Fascinating stuff.
Bulgar had his fingers in an array of criminal "pies."
From supplying the IRA to threatening the Mayor.

The above firearms were found in S. Boston not Santa Monica, apparently he had even more hidden in Santa Monica, lol.

The below thread has some great links on it - like all forums some folks with no interest or knowledge of the subject feel compelled to contribute, just skim over those comments, lol.
The links are quite interesting and for those curious about such things, there is some good info. on offer.
