WWI Mauser? If not then what?

I went to a local antique store where I just got some German flags and saw this carbine for sale. The guy thought It was a Mauser but I noticed a stamp that says Spain on the muzzle. I wasn't quite sure it's a Mauser so I asked if I could write down the numbers and stamps on it so I could research it. He said I could take it home and research it for myself! He let me take home without paying one cent! I told him he's a good man and I would bring it back if I didn't want it. What a cool guy. Any info on this rifle from looking at it?

Maybe around $200. What is the guy asking for it.........?

He wants around $350. He also has a mint kriegs marine flag about nine ft. Long for $500.hes flexible on prices so maybe if I get the flag for asking price maybe he'll throw the Mauser in.....it's worth the try.
