very nice.
I read on an other forum (Yahoo helmet collectors) that this is an official post war modification.
Nice helmet!
Cheers,

I had a British MKII helmet from GREECE with the exact same brown synthetic liner, does it have a metal / aluminum frame ?
yes I agree these are post WWII liners, probably 1950's - 1960's
Yes The Greeks used metal frames for their reissues and leather chin straps.

I concur with the gentleman above
Hi, I would like to buy a helmet like that. How can I understand if it's genuine and how much should I pay for it? Thank you
great helmet...(ωραιο κρανος)
Great helmet , very nice
British-style brown synthetic liners with aluminium headbands were indeed introduced post-war in the greek military. Although these are mostly known by greek MkII helmets, M34/39 helmets had also been refurbished and were kept in use at least till the late 60s, by the police.
Wartime examples bear this type of light brown and quite thin liner, marked by the crown and "ΕΛΗΝΙΚΟΣ ΣΤΡΑΤΟΣ" (Greek Army) surrounding a cross, superimposed on a circle with the helmet's size. (In this case 55). The liner is held in place with 4 screws and equal nuts. British-style liners required that a hole was opened on the dome for its suspension, leaving the 4 holes open and unused.
M34/39 helmets were being imported unpainted and without liners, with the process of manufacture being completed in Greece.
