lithgow this is a good example of a australian m1 with camo. it has its nap strap too, a lot of the one i came across don,t.

I have posted this one before but it's germane to the thread-Aus M1 with 'home made' camo cover-Auscam shirtback, scrim and shredded sandbag and Auscam bits attached.

I think both you and Geelong are right James, they seem to have a slightly more pronounced rim.
I wish I had a US M1 here to compare it to physically.
