James, I share your sentiments. This "helping" with the kids collection has certainly turned into a bit of a "helmet" thing for me as well. Several of the high dollar lids I'd like to put on the shelf, but that won't happen for some time, if at ever. Like you, I see lots of great looking post war helmets that I feel are great collectables, look good on display and when you do a little bit of work, often find a great story behind them. They make for a very affordable hobby to those that do not have the deep pockets. Russ

hi forum are there any books on postwar euro type helmets availible please,as im starting to get a bit of the bug for them but am having trouble working out dates to go with some of the lids i've seen etc,like did the french F1 follow the M51 and there seems to be quite a few variations in this model,any pointers would be a great help,dave.
