Can you help me identify this helmet?

Hi,

I am hoping that someone will be able to help me identify the helmet pictured in this illustration. I realize that it doesn't have a lot of markings on it (and is likely a stylized version of the real thing), but if anyone could even narrow it down the nationality and general time period, I would appreciate it a lot!

Possibly a French Cuirassier's Helmet (19th century) but stylised! they were Leather & Brass! Although. being sat on a Pillar like that suggests Greek! What is the image on?

Thanks! Just from googling, I think you may be right. The image is from an edition of Alice in Wonderland that I am currently analysing.
