I have a question.
Was the M56 design available earlier? 1950?
I'm familiar with the M54, but other than the Soviet helmets that the East Germans wore first, what else was used in 1950?
I've been offered an M56 with II, 12, 50. I'm wondering if it could be a typo?

Can you show a picture? The M56 was buildt from 1956. An early stamp showed only the shell size and the year. For example „II / 57“

I just saw that I was going to show the marking Rene was asking about in my M56.
Better late than never. Running a little behind on my Pic's!!
This is the only marking on the underside of the liner.

In this case Phil it is the Letter R after the roman 3 (III) which indicates 1976.
