The liner looks to be a ww2 one that has had a post war paint job done on it.

Have a look at the bottom of the inside of the liner just below the lace loop and see what the liner stamp is. There's an excellent guide on this forum to the maker's marks of the various liner makers.

If it has two makers marks inside the liner it is post war. For example "it has a westinghouse and a c-pac stamp inside" And the sweatband is post war. But if the rest matches up it looks to be wwii.

I do not have the liner in my possession yet because I just ordered it on eBay. But is there a way do date the liner to the exact year it was made? Is the a serial number that you can use to date it to the exact year it was made like the heat stamp on the m1 shell ?

No there is no way to date it to the year only if it is ww2 or postwar, as said the sweatband is postwar, decals are postwar but original.

the blackened A washers were used on the latest WWII liners, so the liner was made during the later part of WWII

probably around late 1944 -1945 time frame

plain steel color A washers = early war

OD painted A washer = mid war

Blackened A washer = Late war

but as already mentioned the repaint & decals were done at a later date
