Like I mentioned I don't even know where to start. This is not my helmet so this picture is all i can do for you. I have seen a few of these over the years and they are always marked as ww1 children's toy helmets but I have no idea. Expert opinions would be much appreciated

A picture of the liner would help .. but it sounds like thats not available ....?

The helmet looks to be a preWW2 "styled" "Brodie" .... (No rim, .. and a rivet to the top to hold the liner ...)
Thats about all I can say ... as I have no idea on the decal !

I am fairly certain that it is an American made toy helmet.

    Cheers, Ade.

I was also leaning towards a pre ww2 toy. and of the 3 that i have been able to handle myself none have had liners and the helmet is made of a very light metal.

It's a toy helmet. These were also used by the Veterans of Foreign War's for parades also. I used to have one marked to the VFW.

Does the "Fighting Squadron" decal have any significance
