Dutch M-53

Hi Fellow collectors.

Here's a Dutch M-53 from my collection, the shell is missing the chinstraps sadly, the liner is dated July 1991 and made by Heinrich Ulbrichts Witwe, the Austrian manufacturer, with Dutch Woodland cover , British DPM style pattern,but not classed as DPM by the Dutch, as they class this pattern as Woodland!

Isn't DPM categorized as a "woodland" style camouflage??
Then it makes perfect sense that the Dutch dubbed their version "woodland" camouflage.

Surely the Dutch would call it houtland but yes i know what you mean it is a woodland type camo!..

Thanks Mate, the chinstraps would be hard to get hold of as the catch on the straps is quite specific, I have never seen any!

Also a good point Guys ,about why the Dutch class the "DPM" style camo as Woodland!

British DPM was initially classed as Temperate, then of course the Gulf war kicked off so the MoD introduced Desert DPM, whereas the Dutch introduced their own version of DPM, and classed it as Woodland...

The Dutch were way ahead of the game though as there are UN Blue,Woodland,Desert,snow,and Jungle pattern covers for the M-53!
