    Default Dutch M34

Here is my Dutch M34 - original pre-1940 shell with the crest repainted and relined post-war for the civil defence.

Original paint is visible under the scratches in the top coat.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Looking for following WWII German items:
    - anything dealing with Allenstein (Olsztyn) and Wehrkreis I in East Prussia,
    - entrenching tool carrier (straight and folding),
    - forestry and hunting items,

Nice helmet! You already seem to know all about the details of this helmet.

Can you make out a stamp in the metal just below the slot? Could be something like 39P or so. It is entirely possible that there are no markings at all.

BTW look at this IMA copy! The first copy of a Dutch WW2 helmet to my knowledge.

    Cheers,
    Emile

    Thanks - I did a bit of research :-)
There is no stamp, but the paint is pretty thick around the edges so it might be there.

Here is my other M34, used by the Romanians as M39 and purchased from a collector in Russia. He claimed it came from around the Stalingrad area.

They seem to have copies of many different helmets available - there must be market them then.

I have one the same, post war relined and repainted. I was told that a batch of unused shells that had not had liners fitted were found after the war and it is likely to be one of them.

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.
