I think this maybe an Italian Tankers Helmet I have seen one with the same style insignia just my thought

I dont know if the badge is original or added later to dress it up by a collector? these tanker / crash helmets were in use from 1935 - 1960 , so it might even be post WWII

since you can still buy these online for less than $75 , my guess is probably not much more than that?

Sportsmans Guide has them for only $59.00 in like new condition , one buyer says his helmet was dated 1953
