Yes correct these are often sold as russian ssh40,very similar in shape but slightly less quality liner pads and these have leather chinstrap as opposed to webbed type on the ssh40,still a nice euro postwar helmet to have in your collection,regards Dave.

I think the Hungarian M50 is a interesting varient of the Ssh40, the crude liner pads look very similiar to the rare North Korean steel helmet except they use copper rivets on the NK model
every cold war helmet collector should have a M50 in the collection
very nice example opex the end of the second world war saw hungary ocupied by soviet forces the helmet adopted in 1949 was based on the russian m40 and was introduced into service in 1950 ive seen a few examples with the communist red star(hungarian people's republic ) adorned to the front i would like a similar example in my collection one day cheers james
