Hi ,It's definitely a Dutch M58.
See this link for more details on these helmets
HOLANDS OTAN
Cheers for that, interesting article, so the VDN is vereinigte deutsche nickelwerke, or in English "united German nickel plants". Dutch design, copied form US and Britain, made in Germany and sold to Spain.
Thankyou for the info.
Your welcome, I have a Spanish M1 with a German liner,!!
I forgot to ask in my first post, is the DPM pattern cover a hood or just a piece of DPM cloth?
Opex
It looks like a smock hood, the Dutch use DPM as I'm sure you know Opex.
Yes, it could be a 68 pattern hood, which would fit very well onto a M1 shaped helmet.
Theres no label in the hood, but it is a fitted hood.
The DPM on the helmet is British, the Dutch DPM has solid edges to the colours with no dots.
I agree Gunny, it's Brit.
Odd how a Dutch lid, with British DPM cover, ended up in Spain, but that's what I love about these well travelled helmets!
