Just to add a little more context to the thread here are a few more helmet related images that I pulled from an Israeli based Military forum showing a few different variations in wear most were reportedly taken during the 6 day war.
I found the US style M-38 tankers helmet rather an interesting helmet as they are painted tan and a light olive color sadly I was out bid on one on E-Bay last month.
Other notable helmets are the US style M-1, French Otan M-51 ,Mk II style Para helmets and the last image showing Brodie helmets as seen worn by members of a Navy gun crew

Thanks for posting this example Roger an excellent helmet which I was rather sad to miss out on as they never come up for sale in the marketplace.

Hi Mark, congratulations on a nice helmet. It is all in Hebrew, the name on the head band is Zacharia, the chin cup is interesting, the name is Sayeed (bottom) Abudis or Aburis (top), the middle I think is the abbreviation for 'Machlakah' which is 'section' looks like a 1 after it. It's interesting because it is an Arabic name, it's likely it was a Druze soldier as Israeli Arabs do not serve...but that is pure speculation.
Steve.
Many thanks Steve it was your example that you moved on some time ago that inspired me to source one for my own collection and many thanks for the help with the translation I will post better images upon its arrival in the post.
And I am now rather intrigued by the Druze and will see what is available as to information in regards to these soldiers.
Regards Mark
Mark, Sword Battalion formerly Unit 300 of the IDF are 'minority' a unit and make interesting reading, although I believe that Druze can serve in any regular unit. The Druze are a very interesting community and serve with distinction wherever the live.
Steve.
Morning Gents I just recently purchased what I believe to be a good IDF M-1 the helmet body looks correct as does the harness but I am having a few issues with identifying the liner when comparing it to known contemporary examples .
I have tried to blow up the image as large as possible to look for a manufacturers mark but have had no luck the helmet is still in the post so these are all the images I have to work with for the time being do any of you gents have any thoughts opinions and or concerns.
Regards Mark
the green HBT webbing and the A washers look very similar to this Taiwan mfg M1 liner, plus the dark reddish brown color of the fiber liner.
