Thanx BG I agree and will take some better images upon its arrival so possibly we can sort it out as I am rather curious now as to were it originated from I have quite a few US M-1 and or M-1 variants in my collection that do not have proper homes ie... ( Helmet Bodies )

    Regards Mark

Quite glad to add this MKIII helmet to the collection. Used during ww2 and reissued by the IDF during the early years of the state of Israel.

here's my French M51 shell thats been modified by the IDF , they added a liner by riveting it to the shell through the top, commonly seen on French M51 & British MKIII shells.

Just thought I would update the thread with afew new pics as both of my Israeli helmets have arrived in the post first up a few new images of the Mk I -Mk II HSAT conversion I can now confirm that the dome pad is not an oval but is in fact a crucifix type pad.
I have added an Israeli tight knit tan camo net from the late 1950's or early 1960's and a piece of tubing to keep it in place as soon as I can source a 3/4 inch tan cotton knotted net I will be adding it as well for the purpuse of display.

    Regards Mark

And a few more images of the Israeli M-1 with the three point web type harness I still have not had a chance to research the liner but have inspected it for markings and sadly there are none to be found.
It as well has had a piece of hessian added for camoflauge for the purpouse of display and a piece of tubing to keep it in place on the helmet body.

From the many photos that I have found, the rubber tube around the para helmet is too thick for it to be typically 1967.
I have also seen plain helmets worn in the field or just a net and no tube.
It's up to you. Nice helmets!

Many thanks for the reply after checking over a few images I have found on line in reference to the thickness of the tube I believe you are spot on and I will have to cut it down a bit to make it more period correct for the purpose of display.
